How To Prepare For A Job Interview

Feb 10

There is an old saying, if you fail to prepare, you need to prepare to fail.  Its the same with job interviews, according to the careeradviceguy, if you dont at the very least do some basic research on the company and the person that will interview you, it will be very difficult to succeed.

Below are nine tips to help you perform at your best during a job interview.

  • What does the Company Do? What Products do they Sell?  You will be asked questions on both of these subjects so its a good idea to know what the company does by at the very least, looking at their website.
  • Common Interview Questions - There are only a few interview questions to ask and lets be honest 99% of interviewers use the same questions – Learn good answers to them!!
  • Find some Information on who will Interview You – Use LinkedIn and see if you have any mutual friends or have worked for the same companies.
  • What to Wear – or Not to Wear - Dress professional and smart.  Think about the your personal image that you want to give.
  • Ask Questions during the Interview - You need to make sure that you ask questions during the interview, here are some easy ones that you can remember.
  • Arrive before the interview - On time, is late!!!
  • Follow Up with a Thank you email a few days later - Not many people do this and this will keep you in the interviewers mind.  If I meet 10 people in a day, honestly I cannot remember what the first one looks like by the end of the day!!
  • Don’t be too Desperate - Nothing tells me your desperate for a new job than chasing me everyday for information.

If you get Rejected, Don’t give up!!!
